You’ve just received your LED screen. The boxes are open, the panels are up, the power is on—but the screen won’t light up. Don’t panic—this happens more often than you think, especially during the first setup. Here’s a quick guide to basic LED screen troubleshooting, based on real support cases from our rental clients.

First: Is the Power Reaching the Screen?
This sounds obvious, but in a rush, even the basics get missed.Check if the main power cable is properly connected,Make sure the power supply unit (PSU) indicator light is on,If you have dual power backup (like in our GS series led video wall ), unplug one to check the other—it should stay on,Confirm that the breaker or extension you’re using is delivering enough voltage,At Guide, all our cabinets come with load-sharing PSU, which means even if one PSU fails, the screen will still stay on—but only if the rest is wired correctly.
Second: Check the Signal Connection
If the screen is powered but black, the issue may be signal-related.
Confirm the input/output RJ45 ports are matched correctly,Make sure you’re not using a backup port as the main port by mistake,Check if the receiving card indicator light is blinking (no blink = no data),Try using your backup signal input (on our cabinets, there are 4 RJ45 ports—2 active, 2 manual backup),If your controller is a NovaStar VX600, make sure the screen connection file (rcfgx) is loaded properly,(And yes—we help you configure this before shipping.)
Real Example: Solved in Under an Hour
A U.S. client once contacted us, saying their P2.5mm indoor rental screen wasn’t displaying after setup. The screen was 10 cabinets wide by 7 high, powered by VX600.After a quick WhatsApp call, we found it was a signal link setup issue—we sent them a corrected connection diagram and guided them through the steps.Problem solved in less than 1 hour. That screen has since been used in multiple events without a hitch.
Still Not Working?
If you've confirmed both power and signal—but still see no image:Try pressing the “Take Effect” or “Send to Screen” button in the NovaStar software,Try using a new CAT5e or CAT6 cable
