Ask anyone who’s managed a live event with LED screens—the last thing they want is for the screen to suddenly freeze or go black. And more often than not, it’s not the screen itself—it’s the signal. That’s where signal redundancy comes in. But not all “backups” are equal.
What Is Signal Redundancy, Exactly?
In a typical rental LED display system, one signal cable (usually RJ45) runs from the processor to the first cabinet, and then daisy-chains through the rest.
If that main cable or port fails—the whole screen could go dark.
Signal redundancy means you have a second signal route ready, so that if one line fails, the other can take over. But here’s the detail many people miss: some systems switch automatically, while others (like ours) are designed for quick manual switch—which is more reliable in real-world situations.

How Our System Is Designed Differently
At Guide, each cabinet is built with 4 RJ45 ports:
2 standard ports (input/output)
2 backup ports (input/output)
If signal input A fails, you can manually swap to backup input B in seconds—no need to rewire the entire screen.
Why this matters:
Faster field fix – Especially important in rental events
No forced system reboot
Keeps your schedule on track during setup
This design is especially helpful in environments where the LED screen is moved, installed, and torn down frequently, like in concert tours, trade shows, or public roadshows.
When Signal Redundancy Saves the Day
We’ve had clients run 100㎡ led screens outdoor for 12+ hours a day.In one case, a main signal cable was accidentally unplugged during setup. Thanks to the dual signal input design, their team simply connected the backup port—and the show went on without delay. It’s small details like this that keep rental teams coming back to us.
More Than Just Backup—It’s Peace of Mind
Guide LED display aren’t just high brightness or lightweight—they’re smart.
With signal redundancy + power backup + anti-collision surface, your rental team can focus on the show, not the system.
